The Nashville Comic Expo's “Artist Throwdown” is a chance for any and all convention attendees to put their artistic talent to the test! In this contest, attendees will be given a theme which will be the basis that all contestants are to create an art piece. The artists of the top 3 art pieces for adults and kids (as judged by a panel of judges) that best represent the theme in an original and creative way will be awarded cash! There is really only one rule in the contest:
* Your artwork must be created at the Nashville Comic Expo on convention day with Nashville Comic Expo provided art supplies.
We will announce the contest by declaring that everyone is to create an art piece based on a theme or concept that we will provide on convention day. Everyone's art piece will be impartially judged by a guest panel. The top three pieces that best represent the theme will be awarded with the following:
1st Place (adult category): $50
2nd Place (adult category): $30
3rd Place (adult category): $20
1st Place (12 and under category): $30
2nd Place (12 and under category): $20
3rd Place (12 and under category): $10
When? Submissions will be accepted from the start of the Nashville Comic Expo on Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 10:00 AM throughout the weekend until Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at 2:00 PM, when ALL submissions will be judged and winners announced. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE IF YOU WILL NOT BE PRESENT DURING JUDGING ON SUNDAY.

Few things in this world are as wonderful as seeing a perfectly figured, seductive woman in a Poison Ivy costume, a dashing gent in Iron Man armor or even a pit-stained, beer-gutted man in a Spider-Man costume. They are all equally great in their own way. At the Nashville Comic Expo, we encourage you to show your cosplay colors. To show that we are not just "talk", we'll have a costume contest where you can win a fist full of dollars courtesy of the Nashville Comic Expo.
Attend the Nashville Comic Expo and participate in the costume contest dressed as your favorite character! Everyone's costumes will be judged by a panel of judges and have the chance to win the below prizes:
